NeighborWorks Week
Each June, NeighborWorks America and its network of local organizations mobilize tens of thousands of volunteers, businesspeople, neighbors, friends, and local and national elected and civic leaders in a week of neighborhood change and awareness. Since its inception in 1983, NeighborWorks Week showcases how the NeighborWorks network strengthens communities and celebrates our collective impact as a network.
As a charter member of NeighborWorks America, AHEAD shares the common goal to create opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives and strengthen our communities in Northern NH. Here are some projects we’ve worked on in recent years:
• 2021: Beautified the landscape at Lloyd’s Hills and helped with new trail work for Bethlehem Trails Association
• 2020: Distributed Grow Your Own Veggie kits to 6 different North Country communities and held an online summer photo contest
• 2019: Revitalized the grounds of 5 multi-family property locations throughout Littleton and hosted a community BBQ
• 2018: Installed a patio garden area at The Friendship House in Bethlehem
• 2017: Restored the L. Riley Community Garden area in Lincoln and built a pavilion onsite
