Rental Properties

AHEAD owns and operates 278 units of affordable multifamily rental housing in nine northern New Hampshire communities.  The management of Melcher Court in Groveton is contracted out to Stewart Property Management Company.  We develop an average of 10 new units per year using a combination of new construction and substantial rehabilitation.

Income limits do apply for all AHEAD properties. Inquire directly with each property management company for additional income guidelines.

Who do I contact to rent an AHEAD apartment?

* Littleton - Town and Country Family Housing. We are now accepting applications for 25 brand new units of affordable multi-family housing.  2 and 3 bedroom units available, including heat and hot water.  Great location, close to schools, shops etc.  Many units are townhouse-style with full unfinished basements, washer/dryer hookups, ample parking, and energy star appliances. Rental rates range from $600 to $725 per month.  Units will be rented on a first-come, first-serve basis for those who submit a completed rental application AND who meet AHEAD's elegibility criteria. Units will be ready for occupancy by August 1st.

* Berlin, NH - Northern Lights Housing has a studio apartment available.  Rent is $350/month with all utilities included, income limits do apply. Great community room, free parking, on site laundry, and on site maintenance staff.  

*Whitefield, NH - Affordable, 1 and 2 bedroom units available.  1 bedroom unit  $400/month, 2 bedroom unit  $500/month.  Heat and hot water are included.  Great location in the center of Whitefield, NH.  Income limits apply.  Service animals only.

* Berlin, NH - Northern Lights Housing.  1-bedroom apartments, rent is based on income and residents must be age 62 or older or living with a disability.  Great community room, free parking, on site laundry, and on site maintenance staff.  

* Woodsville, NH - Opera Block; 1 bedroom units. Rent is based on income and residents must be age 62 or older or living with a disability. All utilities are included, nice community room, on site laundry, located in the heart of downtown Woodsville.  

* Littleton, NH - Ammonoosuc Green; 3 bedroom unit; rent is based on income.  Located in downtown Littleton, all units include heat and hot water, electricity, on site laundry, parking and mail delivery.

*Littleton, NH - Beattie House Senior Residences.  Great location in the center of Littleton.  Located accross the street from Littleton Food Coop, and next to Ammonoosuc Community Health and Summitt Medical.  Applicants must be at least age 62.  Rent is approx. 30% of income and includes all utilities!  Beautiful, spacious bright apartments with parking, laundry faciliites and great residents.

* Lancaster, NH - McKee Inn; 1 and 2 bedroom units; rent is based on income.  Located in the heart of Lancaster, all units include electric, heat and hot water, on site laundry and nice community room. Residents must be age 62 or older or living with a disability. 

*Lisbon, NH - Lisbon Inn; 1 bedroom units, rent is based on income.  Great location in the center of Lisbon, NH.  All units include electric, heat and hot water, on-site laundry facility and a nice community room.  Residents must be age 62 or older or living with a disability.
